Power naps and parking lots.

Parking lots are places where you see weird things. All kinds of weird things.

Today, as I was arriving back to the office after having lunch, I decided to have a seat in my car for roughly 30 minutes. I actually enjoy sitting in my car, as I normally use my driving time as my "me" time with God. Sometimes, parking lots are for power naps too, no shame for mouth breathers here either. During this time, I was able to observe a lot of things going on around me. For starters, my parking space neighbor cannot park for the life of them. :) Having a hotel next door, I have seen also people arrive to the hotel in PJs ready to sleep or vice versa, dressed in PJs getting to their cars because they are late, or on a road trip. But at some point there was a moment of silence, calmness, and tranquility. I could still hear the sounds of the car tires hitting the freeway pavement, and a chilled wind crept up thru the open back window.

We often are busy running and tend to avoid stopping, or maybe we are not used to meditating on this thing called life. Busyness often keeps you from self-reflecting, and learning about yourself or the things of God. The bible actually addressed this in Psalms 26:10 where it says "Be still, and know that I am God..."

God encourages us to use times of meditation and selfreflection to seek His voice inside of us. Silence sometimes is God's most effective tool against us hard of spiritual hearing.

I encourage you today to seek God, seek His voice. Make it a priority to spend time in silence before the Lord, and you will see how God will use that to speak to you and to show you things that no eye has seen or ears have heard, those hidden mysteries revealed to those who love Him.

In Chris,

-Andy
