I realized it was over a month since the last time I blogged; and if this is to be a consistent part of my life, then I need to get with it. My apologies.

Christmas is always a busy time for my wife and I, and it is always fills us with lots of joy. It is not about gifts, and not about the delicious holiday meals...Okay...maybe a little about the meals. I am praying for God to give me a miracle and go down in weight in a miraculous way! just kidding.

As I was saying, Christmas is always full of joy in our household. We decorate, put up a Christmas tree, Christmas lights outside the house; and I think if we could, we would broadcast Christmas carols with a speaker outside the house. This year was no different, up until the point that we experienced a loss. Our beloved pet "Laila" became ill on Christmas day, due to complications from leg injuries and also from a condition called "mega esophagus". Mega esophagus happens when the esophagus muscle stops working, therefore she was unable to swallow. She had to eat sitting down on her butt, on a custom made chair made by yours truly. Unfortunately, it was too much for her old tired body to take and eventually she could not even walk, or drink water. The situation took a turn for the worst, and we feared that we were facing the decision we hoped never came: putting her down.

I cannot began to explain to you the pain I felt as I walked into the vet clinic with her in my arms. It was one of the most difficult things I have had to do in life.

Even through this experience, God taught me many things. If you walk away after reading this I want you to know this: Hold on to God's hand. It is extremely difficult to formulate the appropriate words, but you must know that he loves you and cares for you. The bible says that his love extends as far as the East is from the West. There is not a single thing in this world, or outside of this world that could separate us from Him. I am praying for you, and I hope you would follow my advise. Trust in Him, even when you cannot see Him; He is right there.
